Once again, Química Clínica Aplicada S.A. is honored to sponsor the research grants of the Dr. Ferran Foundation. This year, the foundation will announce the winners at a public event on May 19th, 2022, highlighting QCA's ongoing commitment to biomedical research and scientific development in the Terres de l’Ebre.

The grants are designed to provide financial support to two types of research projects: one for a startup research group and another for an emerging research group. Both groups are based in the Terres de l'Ebre and operate under the guidance of a principal investigator at a healthcare center in the region.

Startup Groups: These groups consist of at least three members who are structuring their first steps in biomedical research. The goal is to support those who do not have a continued scientific track record and lack prior publications, enabling them to initiate projects in defined health research lines.

Emerging Groups: Unlike startup groups, emerging groups have a stable scientific track record of more than three years, previous financial support, and significant publications in the last three years. These groups are already in a more advanced stage of development, and the grant aims to enhance their ability to make a significant impact in their areas of specialization.

The selection process is rigorous: the Scientific Committee of the foundation proposes the projects that have scored the highest, supervised by the Foundation's Board, which is ultimately responsible for approving the Dr. Ferran Scholarships 2022 proposals.

Once the winners are announced, the Foundation will communicate the grant awards to the principal investigators to formalize the corresponding contract. This support not only reinforces the advancement of science and medicine in the region but also underscores the importance of local research in the context of global health challenges.
