AS TURBIDIMETRIC LATEX (1:5), KIT, 50 mL

PRINCIPLE

The turbidimetric AS LATEX reagent allows quantifying the level of anti-SLO antibodies present in serum samples by comparing the turbidimetric response produced with that obtained with known concentrations of anti-SLO.

The reagent consists of a suspension of latex particles of homogeneous size sensitized with SLO, capable of aggregation in the presence of anti-SLO.This aggregation process produces an increase in the size of the particles which in turn produces an increase in the absorbance of the system.

DIAGNOSTIC USE

Anti-Streptolysin O antibodies are produced in those infections promoted by beta-hemolytic streptococci, due to the presence of the streptolysin O (SLO) liberated from the bacteria. Information on the extent and degree of the infection can be obtained from the measurement of the antibodies level of serum.

Single test result could not be used to make a clinical diagnosis. It should integrate clinical and laboratory data.
