Description

Periodic acid is a powerful oxidizing agent that oxidizes glycol groups in polysaccharides, mucopolysaccharides, glycogen, and other substances in biological tissues, converting them into aldehydes. It is commonly used for PAS-Schiff staining in combination with Schiff's reagent (Ref. 999155).
